CDE Exam Preparation Sessions

These sessions are designed to help prepare you to write the Certified Diabetes Educator exam and will cover key topics, provide study tips and an opportunity for Q&A.



Choices and Changes: Motivating Healthy Behaviours

This workshop is for health care providers to understand the literature, theory and techniques for promoting change in health behavior. 



Clinician- Patient Communication to Enhance Health Outcomes (CPC)

This ½ day interactive training session assists the professional in enhancing their communication skills.



Health Literacy

This interactive workshop is for health care professionals to understand Health Literacy concepts and learn practical skills for clear and effective communication with patients and family members



Mental Health First Aid

This 2 day certified training course is an awareness and prevention program that teaches participants how to help someone who is showing signs of a mental health problem or is experiencing a mental health crisis. 




Moving Towards Change

This program is a 1.5 day workshop with Dr. Michael Vallis. 



Sustaining Change- Education Day for Healthcare Professionals

A 1-day learning opportunity for healthcare professionals with Dr. Michael Vallis speaking on Sustained Behavior Change through the clinician-patient relationship and Meghan Mills from CMHA sharing a workshop on Empathic Strain.



The Empathy Effect: Countering Bias to Improve Health Outcomes

This 4.5 hour training is designed for anyone who works in healthcare who comes into contact with patients/clients and families.



Treating Patients with C.A.R.E.

This 1 day program is for all staff members to learn ways to communicate in ways that will enhance satisfaction and encourage patient partnership.
