Our Level 2 MI workshop is designed for professionals who have completed Level 1 (or equivalent) and are ready to strengthen their MI skills even further.
This advanced training focuses on real-world challenges - working with clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or resistant to change. Many individuals believe they cannot change, and Level 2 provides tools to help free clients from this "stuck" place with compassion and skill.
Who Should Attend
Participants who have completed:
- Motivational Interviewing Level 1, or
- An equivalent introductory MI course
Level 2 is ideal for health practitioners, counsellors, peer supporters, and community service providers who want to deepen their MI practice.
What You Will Learn
Level 2 expands on the skills learned in Level 1 and introduces advanced tools to help with complex conversations. Participants will:
- Strengthen and refine their MI skills through guided practice
- Learn strategies to support people who appear highly resistant, ambivalent, or stuck
- Explore advanced techniques for evoking change talk in difficult situations
- Use MI to reduce defensiveness and promote more open conversations
- Understand how to respond when clients feel hopeless or overwhelmed
- Watch and analyze amplified MI video examples to see techniques in action
- Receive personalized coaching and feedback to build confidence
- Apply MI in both professional and personal contexts
